Dr Nighat Arif is a GP who specialises in women’s health. She believes in empowering women by giving them the information they need for what she calls ‘self health’: how to stay well and the know-how to get what we need when we have to call on the professionals. She will be running online Zoom discussions for Noon on health.

Nighat is the daughter of an Imam in Chesham, Hertfordshire and came to the UK from Pakistan when she was nine, speaking no English. She is passionate about erasing health inequalities and furious that in medical training it is not compulsory for doctors to be learn about menopause, obstetrics, gynaecology and women’s issues in particular. You may well have seen her on ITV This Morning.
